It’s the right fit for mr
i have purchased many briefs from Baskit in size Large (I am a 33 waist). Like other reviewers, I found the Utility Brief a bit tighter. I thought about exchanging it, but then I would run the risk of a saggy backside, so I decided to keep it. They are snug, but tolerable. As for quality and comfort, Baskit comes thru again. Fabric is breathable. And amazingly fast delivery.
Bought these recently in two colours, very prompt delivery which was great. Could not wait to try them and I was not let down, amazing material, great fit and held junk in place as required. Easy access when nature called, I have never seen this fly opening on any other brief, fantastic design. Great colour choice too!!
Just received two pairs of these, perfect fit, great material, easy access when nature calls, and great material. Glad I got these in different colours, fast becoming my go to for new underwear. Very quick delivery, not one for leaving reviews but baskit wear really do tick all the boxes.
I’ve always wanted to try a pair with micromodal in it. I’ve heard great things about the material. I saw these on sale and liked the color (I’m always a fan of anything neon green), so I decided to give them a try. I did read the reviews before ordering and sized up. The waist is perfect but the elastic around the legs were a bit tighter than usual, so I’m glad I sized up. Once I got in a pair of pants and wore them for a day, I didn’t really notice the elastic around the legs being too tight, and found the pair overall being comfortable. The material is really soft and I Love the pouch design with easy access to get things out and in. It’s like a modern version of the Y pouch. I’ll also say I thought the response to the “disappointed” review was hilarious and bold. That was the cherry on top for me.
Very comfortable. Pouch and fly are great.
I really like these underwear because the material feels GREAT, not only when they are in use, but just holding them in hand is really nice. When I'm wearing them, it's like there isn't even anything there to be honest. The only thing that I will say that I don't like is that they're too small, and I got the XL! I'm a bit on the thicker side of the spectrum so these would probably be better at 40 and not capped at 39 (just one more inch could do A LOT). Alrighty folks that is all from me, thanks for coming to my TED talk hahaha PEACE OUT
I did like the look of these briefs, a generous pouch and a convenient horizontal fly. I’m a 34” waist so I ordered my usual Large size. Upon arrival I tried them on and they was so tight I thought they was a small size, although the label said large. I wore them for two hours but they so tight I had to change them for my regular briefs. I would not recommend anyone buying these briefs.
Andrew- Thank you for taking the time to review. First, we offer a 30 day refund/exchange policy. So, definitely send them back. Next, our sizing runs pretty true, but everyone is a little different so sometimes things don't fit one person like another. Also, so many US brands use vanity sizing (scaling up) now that it's hard to know what size we really are. We'd recommend sizing up and seeing if you like the fit better. Don't worry what the label says...buy for the fit.
I really liked your last utility briefs but these are even better. The fly works so well and my stuff doesn't flop out when I move or bend over. Definite bonus. Your waistband is sturdy too and it stays put without leaving a mark on my body. I actually don't mind wearing these. Keep it up and maybe add more colors like black or brown. Thanks.
The “Utility “ briefs I bought. Something is not Kosher here: there is no label to indicate the fabric. Isn’t that a requirement by federal law?
The fit was uncomfortably tight. The workmanship is low quality. I will definitely not do business with Baskit again.
Baskit Response:
Mr. Buck-
Thank you for taking the time to review our products. We get hundreds of reviews a year (some good and some bad) but few that are just blatantly incorrect. Sit back while we correct some of your false assertions in order to make things, “kosher” for you. Ready? Here we go:
“There’s no label to indicate the fabric. Isn’t that a requirement by federal law?” Let’s start with the last point first because that’s the only statement you make that is factually correct. Yes, United States federal law requires apparel labels to include: fiber content, country of origin, the manufacturer identity (read: brand name) and care instructions. To that end, we include all of this information on every care label (and on the box too) of every item we sell. In your case, the Utility briefs have a 3.25 inch x 1 inch Satin Softouch label sewn directly into the waistband on the inside back of the underwear. Directly below the word, “baskit” and to the right of the word, “utility” you will find the fabric content stated as 95% micro modal/5% Spandex and… it’s in five languages! FIVE! Basically, it’s right where most companies tend to put these labels. We also use heat transfer “tagless” labels that convey the same information on some pairs and tend to set those in back just below the waistband? Have you had your vision checked lately?
“The fit was uncomfortably tight.” Hey, we feel your pain here. Fit is everything and we strive to make great fitting gear that actually acknowledges the male anatomy. We don’t make standard, flat panel underwear but rather form fitting pouches. So, one of two things is occurring here. You’re wearing the wrong size (this is common as US sizing has gone crazy in the past 5-10 yrs) or you’re truly well-endowed or a combination of the two. In any case, we’d suggest trying the next size up if you’re on the end of our sizing charts. Also, we have a very generous return policy because we want you to be happy in our gear!
“The workmanship is low quality.” Here it really becomes clear that you have no idea about apparel and that’s ok. You have better things to do than learn about what makes a great pair of underwear. Lucky for you, we’ve been making high quality underwear using premium fabrics for over 20 years now. So, let’s look at the Utility brief to which you are referring. First, we start with premium fabrics. The Utility brief is 95% Micro Modal for the some of the softest, natural fiber underwear you’ll find. We spin in 5% elastane to provide a little extra stretch and support (balls can be heavy!). Maybe you’re used to 100% polyester? We’re not. Next, all our fabrics are laser cut. We don’t use the traditional and still widely used fabric cutting knives (Read: saw blade) as these tend to make imperfect cuts leading to poor seams and uneven fits. It costs a little bit more to use these machines, but we think it’s worth it. Moving on… have you looked at our waistbands and hem elastic? Both are premium and unlike anything you will find in most brands. We knit thick waistbands using wooly nylon (soft!) that keeps your underwear in place and stands up wash-after-wash. Our hem elastic is also top quality. Many brands don’t even put elastic in the leg hem. They rely on the stretch of the fabric to keep the underwear in place. Um, ya that doesn’t work. But wait, we’re not done yet! Our stitch is to die for. We use a three-thread overlock stitch on almost all of our underwear (including the Utility collection) because that stitch holds up to both washing and the manner in which guys tend to pull on the pouch when nature calls or they have an itch. Three threads! Low workmanship? We’re taking bets around the office as to whether or not you believe the Earth is flat. It’s round!
“I will definitely not do business with Baskit again.” We totally understand. You should only do business with companies that truly meet your needs. We feel the same way. In fact, we’ve fired suppliers because they just couldn’t deliver fabrics and materials to our specifications but then…we know what we’re talking about when it comes to apparel. So, there is that. Anyway, do us one last favor? Keep your promise.
Really like the fit, like the material, like the style - second bulk purchase and will return again. new favs.
Really love the pouch and fly opening. The picture on the website does not do the product full justice really.
The pouch is roomy enough for me and I am slightly above average man.
I like the extra wide waist band bu the best is the narrow flat bands in the leg - this stops gluteal crease ride of the fabric (wedgie) so everything stays well in place.
Size wise, I think you do need a XXL in these as I am a 38 and only just fit me. If the XXL option was available, I would select that next time (there will be a next time).
Some more color options would be great too.
Very nice fitting and good looking brief
